What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Guy begins as a non-player character but develops agency, self-awareness, and an independent moral identity.
Free City is built around player violence, recurring missions, digital avatars, game updates, and recognizable gaming conventions.
Guy’s actions in Free City are intercut with Millie, Keys, Mouser, and Antwan’s conflicts in the real world.
The film fills its cityscape with CGI action, game-interface logic, avatar encounters, and pop-culture visual gags.
