What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film uses Godzilla, Megalon, Gigan, miniatures, and suitmation to stage a brightly theatrical monster battle.
Godzilla's cartoonish movements and especially his celebrated flying kick give the combat an overtly goofy register.
The independently thinking robot Jet Jaguar is created to help resist Seatopia's attack and joins the monster conflict.
The G rating, youthful human characters, gentle moral framing, and non-graphic creature combat make the film accessible as children's entertainment.
