What critics said
Critics broadly found the film easygoing and intermittently amusing but undercut by a contrived script, weak characterization, and an overreliance on Rat Pack rapport.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Danny Ocean reunites ten former airborne soldiers to rob five Las Vegas casinos in one coordinated operation.
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Peter Lawford carry the film through their recognizable camaraderie and nightclub-era personas.
The robbery unfolds across mid-century Las Vegas casinos, nightlife venues, and gambling culture rendered in Technicolor.
The crew's wholesale casino robbery is presented through wisecracks, celebrity charm, and an unconcerned comic attitude.
