What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Jerry Webster and Carol Templeton compete in rival advertising agencies while their hostility develops into romance.
Jerry's contract-winning tactics and the invented VIP product turn advertising culture into the film's central comic target.
Carol mistakes Jerry for Doctor Linus Tyler because she and Jerry have never met, allowing Jerry to exploit the confusion.
Jerry's use of alcohol, women, double entendres, and romantic manipulation drives the farcical comic register.
