What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Giselle moves from an animated magical kingdom into contemporary Manhattan, where storybook logic repeatedly clashes with urban reality.
Giselle's unquestioning belief in perfect romance is tested by Robert's pragmatic view of love and relationships.
The opening fairy-tale world is animated while the central Manhattan story unfolds in live action.
The film playfully revises princess, villain, prince, and happily-ever-after conventions without abandoning their warmth.
