What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Amudha’s discovery of her adoption drives her journey from Rameswaram toward her birth mother in Sri Lanka.
Amudha’s reunion with Shyama is shaped by Tamil militancy, military danger, and competing obligations to family and cause.
Shyama’s flight to a refugee camp, Amudha’s separation from her mother, and the family’s journey through conflict zones foreground civilian suffering.
The storm, refugee-camp displacement, and perilous journey through Sri Lanka are presented with expressive cinematic scale rather than documentary restraint.
