What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Cruchot is an ambitious gendarme whose attempts to control public disorder and protect his daughter produce increasingly chaotic situations.
Nicole claims that her father is wealthy and owns a yacht, while the supposed yacht owners also conceal their true identities.
Cruchot’s policing in Saint-Tropez centers on nude swimmers, wealthy holidaymakers, and the tension between gendarmerie authority and Riviera leisure.
The daughter’s lie, a borrowed car, the yacht, and concealed identities interlock to create the film’s comic chain of misunderstandings.
