What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The investigation unfolds around a starlet, her personal assistant, publicity networks, and the pressures of celebrity identity.
Critics specifically identify the film as a visually striking kaleidoscopic neo-noir, while Jill moves through sharply stylized Los Angeles spaces.
The central relationship between Jill and Heather drives both the emotional stakes and Jill's attempt to determine what is true.
Jill must confront the gap between Heather's starlet persona, private behavior, and the competing explanations surrounding the crime.
