What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film emphasizes injuries, unstable earnings, touring conditions, and the physical cost of professional saddle riding.
Wes pursues rodeo winnings to finance a farm, while Jeff's mentorship exposes the bodily price of that ambition.
The rodeo sequences use candid, muscular observation of bull riding, falls, and the working circuit.
Louise's fear of rodeo instability conflicts with Wes's desire for financial independence and Jeff's commitment to coaching him.
