What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The giant crocodiles and droll hunter are presented within a semi-campy, amusing monster-movie framework.
Nathan’s mischievous son finds baby crocodiles, feeds them, and inadvertently enables their rapid growth and attacks.
Lake Placid’s rustic lakeside environment is treated as a breeding ground for giant crocodiles despite local assurances that the danger has ended.
The discovery of baby crocodiles develops into attacks by very large adults on the family and nearby town.
