What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Donal is a middle-aged farmer whose mother’s murder drives him into a violent criminal investigation and revenge campaign.
The film combines a grim murder-and-revenge plot with darkly comic moments and an isolated farming environment.
Donal begins as a farmer rather than a trained detective, yet pursues the people responsible for his mother’s death.
The murder of Donal’s mother is the specific emotional wound that initiates and sustains his mission.
