What critics said
Critics broadly viewed the film as a tired, repetitive sequel whose change of scenery could not compensate for a lack of fresh ideas, though some found the central duo intermittently amusing.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Lee's disciplined Hong Kong police persona is repeatedly contrasted with Carter's loud, impulsive Los Angeles traffic officer.
Jackie Chan's physical performance and the duo's comedic reactions shape the film's major action sequences.
The precious list of Triad names drives Lee and Carter's mission across Paris while gangsters try to recover or suppress it.
