What sets it apart

Ram and Janu reconnect after 22 years and revisit the love they shared as school sweethearts without reducing their history to a conventional reunion resolution.
The adult reunion is interwoven with scenes of younger Ram and Janu, allowing past intimacy and present restraint to illuminate one another.
The performances of Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan communicate years of longing and regret through subdued gestures and conversation.
The central relationship begins in high school, and the reunion prompts both characters to revisit their formative shared past.
