What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The story centers on the Ash Lad, trolls, a witch, a mountain king, and a princess drawn from Norwegian fairy-tale tradition.
Clumsy peasant Espen is dismissed by his family but uses kindness, curiosity, and apparently useless objects to advance the quest.
Prince Fredrik and his retainers compete with the three peasant brothers to rescue Princess Kristin and claim the royal reward.
The brothers travel through Norwegian mountain terrain toward the troll king, with CGI creatures and enchanted obstacles shaping the journey.
