What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Klaasje, Dennis, Simone, Ted, Victor, Kees, Kiki, and Valentijn each receive connected romantic storylines that converge around the holiday climax.
The arrival of a mysterious Santa Claus-like Sinterklaas figure links the characters' amorous complications to Dutch festive culture.
Infidelity, unemployment, wedding doubts, hidden attraction, and mistaken expectations generate the film's comic relationship conflicts.
Victor and Kees's engagement and Kees's doubts are presented alongside the heterosexual couples' struggles as central parts of the ensemble.
