What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Dr. Ellie Staple attempts to explain away the abilities of David Dunn, Elijah Price, and Kevin Wendell Crumb through psychiatric and rationalist frameworks.
The central trio is confined to a psychiatric hospital while Dr. Staple conducts an intervention designed to disprove their superhuman status.
David, Elijah, and Kevin are forced into sustained confrontation inside a mental hospital under clinical supervision.
The characters understand themselves through heroes, villains, origin stories, and a comic book shop that reinforces the film's genre vocabulary.
