What critics said
Critics broadly regarded the film as a weak, recycled, and illogical remake whose occasional comic energy and Varun Dhawan's dual performance could not overcome thin writing and uneven humor.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Raja and Prem are separated twins whose identical appearance and genetically linked reflexes drive the comedy of errors.
The brothers' reflexes cause their lives to interlink in strange ways despite their different upbringings.
The film combines slapstick comedy, romantic complications, action against smugglers, and family melodrama across a long runtime.
Varun Dhawan plays both the street-raised Raja and the more sheltered Prem, emphasizing their contrasting identities.
