What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Piero grows up in Livorno's popular Ovosodo district amid blue-collar families and an oil-refinery environment.
Piero's movement from adolescence toward marriage is shaped by disillusionments and the practical search for a place in life.
The film centers on Livorno's local community and combines comic observation with class-conscious Italian social detail.
Lisa is Piero's great love, yet her definitive departure becomes one of the story's central emotional disillusions.
