What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film turns French Resistance activity, German officers, military hierarchy, and heroic liberation imagery into farcical comic material.
The Bourdelle family’s improvised efforts to liberate France satirize familiar stories of French resistance and courage.
The musicians of the Bourdelle family, including Michel Taupin, Papy, Bernadette, and Super Résistant, collectively shape the resistance plot.
The Bourdelles refuse to perform for the Germans and attempt liberation through unconventional, comic means.
