What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The entity forces the college friends through successive rounds of truth or dare, making the game's rules drive the plot.
The friends' survival depends on continuing the entity's game and passing its demands through the group.
The Halloween rental is infamous because youths died there in 1983, and replaying the house's game awakens the threat.
The recognizable game of truth or dare becomes increasingly threatening as each round raises the stakes.
