What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Fred Rogers is presented primarily through journalist Lloyd Vogel's assignment and evolving relationship with him rather than through a comprehensive life story.
Fred Rogers responds to Lloyd's skepticism and anger with sustained empathy, making kindness the film's central active practice.
The film uses miniature sets and television-program transitions associated with Mister Rogers to shape its storytelling perspective.
Lloyd begins as a jaded magazine writer but gradually confronts his assumptions, grief, and difficulty forgiving his father.
