What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Fikret’s battle with a werewolf is framed through comic misadventures rather than sustained fright.
The plot moves from encounters with Somali pirates to a Buddhist monastery and then Istanbul.
The sailor protagonist, pirates, monastery sojourn, and werewolf confrontation establish an intentionally exaggerated comic register.
The film combines Turkish ensemble comedy and Istanbul-centered popular cinema with werewolf horror and fantasy elements.
