What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Ellen’s forced return home to care for her seriously ill mother changes her understanding of Kate, George, and her own family life.
The Guldens’ respectable professional image conflicts with the unresolved tensions Ellen discovers while living with her parents.
Kate’s serious illness and the family’s daily caregiving responsibilities make death and decline the film’s intimate emotional framework.
