What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Juha's emotional paralysis after a tragic loss becomes intertwined with his escalating suffocation fixation.
Mona's dominatrix practice and Juha's attraction to suffocation create an intentionally volatile mixture of desire, menace, and absurdity.
Juha and Mona's bond develops through BDSM sessions that increasingly reveal their vulnerabilities and emotional needs.
The film foregrounds suffocation, piercing, intimate physical rituals, and an intense score to externalize Juha's damaged inner life.
