What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Daniel’s lifelong fixation on the heavens is closely tied to losing his father in World War II and his mother at childbirth.
Daniel and Sandy bond through following the United States-Soviet space race and the 1969 moon landing.
Daniel spends decades secluded in the backwoods of Central Oregon before Sandy enters his life.
Sandy’s vivacious openness contrasts with Daniel’s withdrawn nature, helping him emerge from reclusehood.
