What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Dave's visible competence and career prospects sharply contrast with his collapsing family life and low self-worth.
Dave is simultaneously celebrated and despised as a local weather forecaster while struggling privately as a father and son.
The film treats public hostility, family conflict, and Dave's midlife crisis with dark, restrained humor.
Dave's relationship with his perfectionist writer father Robert shapes his insecurity and sense of inadequacy.
