What critics said
Critics and viewers broadly recognize an energetic, unusual, and highly entertaining Troma-style genre experiment, though its rough low-budget execution limits its appeal.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The story combines zombies, superhuman mutants, nuclear catastrophe, and grotesque hybrid creatures in an intentionally over-the-top register.
The military cell's experiments produce the zombie apocalypse and drive the pursuit of Maria and TS-347.
The cast includes a zombie head, yellow mutant, rat-hand, and other transformed figures, signaling an emphasis on bizarre physical spectacle.
Fearless soldier Maria, superhuman TS-347, and hungover, unambitious Pedro must cooperate while escaping pursuit and catastrophe.
