What critics said
Critics generally found the cast and musical hook appealing but judged the contrived story and predictable twist insufficient to sustain the romantic comedy.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Tom's mysterious presence and seemingly ideal connection with Kate support the film's ghost-film premise and late narrative turn.
Kate's encounters with Tom and her work connected to a homeless shelter bring out a more generous, responsible version of her.
London's Christmas season, Santa's shop, seasonal music, and charitable activity frame the romance and emotional healing.
The story moves through London streets, a Christmas shop, family spaces, and a homeless shelter during the holiday period.
