What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Iris absorbs humiliation, family hostility, workplace monotony, and romantic dismissal with restrained outward response.
The factory, home, and social encounters are presented through severe compositions and economical dialogue, reinforcing Iris's isolation.
The match factory and repetitive match production frame Iris's dead-end work and the mechanical rhythm of her life.
Iris's revenge follows pregnancy, rejection, parental cruelty, and repeated social humiliation rather than a single isolated grievance.
