What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Carly's manic and destructive behavior repeatedly threatens Hank's career and the family's cohesion.
Hank's nuclear testing work and military position are jeopardized by the turmoil around his household and the Blue Sky project.
The Marshalls' family life is shaped by postings, base hierarchies, wives' committees, and Cold War military culture.
Carly models her overtly sexual image on Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot, turning performance into both liberation and disruption.
