What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The introduction of television generates communal absurdity while the villagers' difficulties and losses give the story emotional weight.
The entire village project revolves around bringing television broadcasting to southeast Anatolia in 1974.
Emin and Mayor Nazmi struggle to connect their village to a rapidly changing wider society.
Deli Emin, Siti Ana, Fikri, Latif, and other villagers contribute to a collective story rather than a solitary character arc.
