What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Slimane’s restaurant project continually reframes relationships among his children, ex-wife, partner, and wider family clan.
The family’s effort to establish a couscous restaurant turns cooking and service into a shared path toward dignity.
Slimane pursues a restaurant despite his exhausting shipyard work, irregular income, and doubts about his usefulness.
The film presents a Tunisian family in Sète through ordinary conflicts, ambitions, pleasures, and internal disagreements rather than overt victimhood alone.
