What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Kabir's anger, possessiveness, substance abuse, and destructive behavior are framed as components of an intense romantic identity, a choice that drew substantial critical controversy.
Kabir is an alcoholic surgeon whose temper and grief after losing Preethi drive a sustained spiral of self-destruction.
Kabir and Preethi's relationship is opposed by family and social circumstances while Kabir treats his attachment as unconditional and all-consuming.
The reported non-linear editing moves back and forth across Kabir's medical-school romance, separation, and later deterioration.
