What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Nick Bannister uses memory reconstruction technology to investigate Mae's disappearance while his romantic fixation shapes the inquiry.
Flooded Miami, with submerged buildings and waterways, makes global warming's consequences central to the film's world.
Nick's profession and investigation depend on returning clients to distant memories and replaying Mae's history.
Nick's pursuit of Mae is motivated by unresolved desire as much as by the mystery surrounding her disappearance.
