What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The barbershop setting, actorly ambitions, and heightened comic crime premise create an overtly stage-like absurdist register.
The murder investigation is intertwined with the barbershop's hair-collecting scheme and a fantasy-inflected atmosphere without a straightforward realist explanation.
Danesh's desire to become an actor is concretely tied to collecting enough long hair to make wigs and gain access to a famous director.
A series of murders unsettles the community while the investigation unfolds amid barbershop labor, performance dreams, and eccentric fantasy.
