What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The extended Battle of Hansan sequence emphasizes ship formations, currents, artillery, and the turtle ship in visually and aurally overwhelming detail.
Park Hae-il's Yi Sun-shin is presented as a leader struggling day and night to save Joseon while devising a battle plan against Japanese forces.
The recreated turtle ship functions as a decisive military instrument and as the dragon-like image that conveys terror to the invading Japanese fleet.
Yi Sun-shin and Japanese commanders Wakisaka Yasuharu and Kato Yoshiaki maneuver around intelligence, geography, and the changing conditions of the sea.
