What critics said
Critics generally found it a passable but uneven independent horror film, with Sarah Thompson's lead performance and its rural atmosphere standing out amid choppy editing and a late tonal shift.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The babysitting assignment places Angie inside a seemingly ordinary farmhouse whose residents and child conceal an evil reality.
The stalking and home-invasion setup gives way to a more explicitly supernatural horror scenario.
Angie's identity as a religious teenager and the former altar-boy background of Rick contrast with the film's devil imagery and moral corruption.
Angie travels to the distant Stanton Farm in the countryside, where the dark rural setting magnifies stalking and intrusion.
