What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Mirza and Baankey sustain the film through landlord-tenant one-upmanship, banter, and competing agendas.
The decaying mansion, its tenants, and their petty disputes create an intimate, observational world rather than a conventionally plotted farce.
Mirza's fixation on preserving the old mansion gives the comedy a persistent undercurrent of decline and ownership anxiety.
The dilapidated Lucknow mansion is the central arena for the tenants' conflicts and the film's comic atmosphere.
