What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Abdullah's killing of Ziya is celebrated as saving the town's honor, but his recantation turns him into an outcast.
Abdullah first admits the killing, then denies it in court, discovering that the denial destroys his standing.
The deserted hills of Bozkir frame the killing, while the surrounding village imposes its own unstable ethical judgment.
Abdullah and Cripple Ziya's long partnership collapses when friendship conflicts with Abdullah's honor code.
