What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Sy Parrish studies the Yorkin family's photographs, makes duplicate prints for himself, and constructs a fantasy of being part of their family.
The SavMart photo lab, suburban mall, family snapshots, and routine customer interactions become the setting for Sy's increasingly disturbing fixation.
Sy fantasizes about becoming the Yorkins' favorite Uncle Sy despite having no reciprocal relationship with them.
Developed prints and Sy's private duplicate set organize the film's visual world and provide access to the Yorkins' concealed domestic life.
