What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film alternates grisly full-moon murders with deadpan humor and the protagonist's volatile comic behavior.
The investigation repeatedly asks whether the killings are caused by an animal, a person, or something resembling a werewolf.
Officer John Marshall struggles with sleep deprivation, anger, family responsibilities, and the pressure to solve the killings.
The murders unfold in a remote Utah mountain town surrounded by winter conditions and limited local police resources.
