What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Megan is suspended after the supermarket shooting and must persuade colleagues that Eugene is the killer despite lacking courtroom-ready evidence.
The New York setting, murder investigation, and Eugene's stalking are presented through Kathryn Bigelow's stylish, high-contrast thriller direction.
Eugene dates Megan while implying that he is responsible for the murders and continues psychologically torturing her.
The missing gun, the shell casing bearing Megan's name, and Megan's police role all connect firearms to credibility and control.
