What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The village, Roman occupation, Julius Caesar, and magic potion are presented as a playful fictionalized version of first-century antiquity.
The independent village is the last settlement outside Roman control and repeatedly relies on its shared defiance.
The Romans seek Obelix and the druid because the village’s remaining magic potion is running out.
The potion grants incredible power, while Obelix’s permanent invincibility enables exaggerated comic fights with Roman forces.
