What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The virus specifically transforms men into homicidal attackers of women, making gender violence the film's central speculative mechanism.
Anne and her daughter Amy must survive a society where the male population turns violently against all females.
The premise combines apocalyptic violence with an overt critique of misogyny and patriarchal threat.
The 59-minute TV-MA format concentrates the catastrophe into an intimate, low-scale survival story rather than a large effects-driven spectacle.
