What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Aging Meyer Lansky recounts his life while under federal investigation, leaving his version of events shaped by performance and self-justification.
The federal inquiry provides the present-day frame while flashbacks follow Lansky from his youth to his position as a syndicate boss.
Harvey Keitel's aging Lansky is portrayed through weary authority, retrospective menace, and the weight of a long criminal legacy.
Lansky's identity as the alleged Mob's Accountant and boss of Murder Inc. places syndicate organization at the center of the story.
