What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Nami's imprisonment follows her attempted attack on Sugimi, while her persistent revenge drives the prison conflict.
Retrospective criticism specifically highlights expressionistic lighting, makeup effects, stylized sets, and gymnastic camerawork.
Nami is confined to a female prison where sadistic male guards participate in a planned killing and sexualized abuse.
Sugimi and the Japanese mafia arrange an apparently accidental death because Nami knows about their criminal connections.
