What critics said
Critics generally found that the anarchic comedy of the television series became slapdash and shallow when expanded to feature length.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film follows Reno deputies through documentary-style interviews and observational footage during a disrupted police convention.
The rag-tag deputies are sent to handle a terrorist crisis despite their ineptitude, turning police heroics into sustained farce.
The Reno 911! characters leave their usual series format for a feature plot involving a national police convention and terrorist attack.
The police convention unfolds amid Miami Beach spring-break culture, juxtaposing partying, beaches, and terrorism.
