What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Josefina’s identity as a nun is disrupted when she must adopt her teenage nephew, entangling religious duty with family and love.
The central relationship develops after a nun becomes responsible for her fifteen-year-old nephew rather than functioning as a conventional parent.
The film is classified as animation as well as drama, marking its treatment of family conflict as formally unusual within intimate European cinema.
Josefina and Alexandre’s newly imposed guardian-nephew relationship is the film’s primary emotional axis.
