What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Borat and Tutar enter real-world encounters under elaborate false pretenses, eliciting unrehearsed responses from people who do not know they are being filmed.
The story sends Borat into Trump-era America to deliver a gift to Mike Pence while ridiculing presidential politics, patriotism, and election culture.
Tutar's arrival transforms Borat's mission into a shared journey in which their relationship becomes increasingly central.
Borat's deliberately bigoted and ignorant persona reveals racism, sexism, conspiracy thinking, and political extremism among his American interlocutors.
