What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The wraparound follows a police team investigating VHS material that introduces multiple independent segments.
Low-definition VHS imagery and 1990s video aesthetics shape the film's presentation and underground tape-trading atmosphere.
Critics specifically praised the creature and makeup effects, while the segments emphasize gore and grotesque physical imagery.
The anthology balances funhouse scares, blood-soaked carnage, dark comedy, and an overtly playful love of horror.
